‘Get your shot. Today!’ Rep. Rogers urges at groundbreaking for hospital-linked clinic in McCreary County, which has no hospital
“Get your shot. Today!” 5th District U.S. Rep. Harold “Hal” Rogers of Somerset says in a video circulated by the Kentucky Primary Care Association. He says he tells the unvaccinated that “Vaccination is not only important to them, it’s important to the rest of us,” because most Covid-19 cases are among the unvaccinated, by far.
Rogers spoke after the groundbreaking for Cumberland Family Medical Center‘s medical facility in McCreary County, which will provide x-rays, CT scans and other medical resources in partnership with Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
“In a county without a local hospital, this new facility will help save lives, offering emergency medical care after-hours and on holidays,” Rogers said. The center, received a $1 million competitive federal grant in December with Rogers’ support. KPCA has a video report on the project.
