Webinar aims to change the narrative around the SNAP program

The next Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky “Health for a Change” webinar is titled “Facts Over Fiction-Changing the Narrative Around SNAP Benefits.” It will be held Friday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to noon ET.
The free, online webinar will focus on the health and economic benefits of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps. It will also address the best ways to advocate for SNAP and counteract the “dependency” argument and look at policies and programs to help increase the number of eligible Kentuckians taking advantage of the program. Speakers will be Jessica Klein, policy associate with the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy, and Melissa McDonald, executive director of Feeding Kentucky.
