CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation offers 14 health care scholarships for people in their market areas
CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation has announced 14 scholarships totaling more than $34,000 to support aspiring health care professionals across their Kentucky communities, including Bardstown, Berea, Lexington, London, Nicholasville and Mount Sterling.
Associate, bachelor’s and advanced degree candidates can apply to the scholarship program. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted by Friday, April 11.
“We’re proud to support the next generation of health care professionals,” Delaine Thiel, vice president of philanthropy, CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations, said in a news release. “By investing in these students, we’re not only helping them achieve their dreams, but also ensuring that our patients continue to receive compassionate, high-quality care for years to come.”
The 2025 CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation academic scholarships include:
Medical, nursing and allied health scholarships — marketwide:
For graduating seniors:
- John R. Gaines Scholarship for Medical Excellence – $2,500
- Robert & Donna Hewett Scholarship – $2,500
- Joseph K. Ford Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship – $1,000
- Sr. Michael Leo Nursing Scholarship – $1,000
For secondary and post-secondary students:
- John R. Gaines Scholarship for Medical Excellence – $5,000
- Phyllis Cronin Scholarship – $2,500
- Robert & Donna Hewett Scholarship – $2,500
- Larry & Casey Schumacher Nursing Scholarship – $1,000
- Sr. Liz Wendeln Scholarship – $1,000
Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation scholarships – Bardstown area
For graduating seniors
- Lily Smith Memorial Scholarship – $5,000
- Flaget Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship – $1,000
For secondary and post-secondary students
- Bruce Klockars Scholarship – $2,500
Sherry and Russell Craig Scholarship – $2,000
CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation nursing or allied health scholarships – London area
- Patti Mink Scholarship Endowment – $1,000
