Gov. Andy Beshear and his wife marked the second anniversary of Kentucky’s first Covid-19 case with a Facebook post that invited Kentuckians to share their stories of loss or sacrifice.
“This is a hard day for so many of us, but our hope is, by coming together and sharing our stories, we can find comfort,” Britainy Beshear said.
The couple stood on the site, on the north-northwest side of the Capitol grounds, where the state’s pandemic memorial to the victims, now more than 14,000, will be built.
“My faith tells me that these are all God’s children, unique and irreplaceable individuals who meant something special to their loved ones,” the governor said, adding thanks to “health-care workers, educators “and every other Kentuckian who stepped up.”
