WCPO 9 News: Ky. woman says medical cannabis changed her life; more than 5,200 cards distributed

A Northern Kentucky woman says medical cannabis has changed her life.
Deborah Wisdom of Latonia told Connor Steffen with WCPO 9 News, Cincinnati that at one point, her chronic pain kept her bedridden.
“I have body aches all over. I’ve broken my back, broken my legs, my ankles, my feet,” Wisdom told Steffen. “I just lived upstairs in my bedroom and came down maybe to eat a meal, but that was it.”
But after being prescribed medical cannabis, she told Steffen that she has been able to work part-time at Kroger and that “it totally changed my world.”
Steffen reports that Dr. James Weeks, who owns the practice where Wisdom is a patient, One Heart Medical, says he has seen around 50 patients since December, mostly to treat chronic pain and cancer. His practice operates in both Cincinnati and Fort Wright, Kentucky.
According to the Kentucky Cannabis Industry Alliance, Steffen reports that more than 5,200 medical marijuana cards have been distributed across the state.
Rachel Roberts, KCIA executive director, told Steffen that the first dispensaries in Kentucky should open by mid-to-late summer,
